Objectives:

• Develop skills to apply WALANT in soft tissue coverage.
• Learn how WALANT can be used for a variety of nerve procedures.
• Understand how to utilize WALANT when performing distal radius fracture fixation.
• Learn the nuances of tenolysis and tendon reconstruction.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the benefits of WALANT in basal joint arthroplasty.
Description
Course Format: This course consists of an online pre-test, an online video, an online post-test, and an online evaluation. 

Participation Requirements: To qualify for CME credit, participants must complete each part of this course. 

Estimated Time: The estimated time to complete this course is 1.5 hours. 

CME Credit Hours: The American Society for Surgery of the Hand designates this Internet Enduring Material activity for a maximum of 1.50 "AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™". Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The ASSH is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Course Summary: Wide Awake Local Anesthesia No Tourniquet (WALANT) has gained great popularity throughout the world. The advantages unique to WALANT have driven the recognition and utilization of the technique in multiple common hand surgeries such as carpal tunnel release, trigger finger release, flexor tendon repair, tendon transfers and Dupuytren’s fasciectomy. Yet, WALANT can also be used in other diverse and complex upper extremity surgeries.  This webinar harnesses the expertise of accomplished WALANT surgeons to discuss application of the technique to advanced surgical procedures.
