Objectives:
- Improve ability to identify untoward results both in terms of objective abnormalities and patient perception.
- Improve ability to identify and implement tools to test quantify and qualify the untoward result.
- Develop strategies for mitigating impairment and maximizing patient satisfaction.



Course Format: This course consists of an online syllabus, an online pre-test, an online video, an online post-test, and an online evaluation. 

Participation Requirements: To qualify for CME credit, participants must complete each part of this course. 

Estimated Time: The estimated time to complete this course is 1.25 hours. 

CME Credit Hours: The ASSH designates this activity for a maximum of 1.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Of the 1.25 credits, 0.50 have been identified as applicable to Patient Safety.

Course Summary: This webinar will explore complications, misperceptions and misunderstanding associated with distal radius fractures, flexor tendon injuries, CMC arthroplasty, small joint arthroplasty and nerve decompression. The faculty will discuss strategies to manage patient expectations, enhance patient safety and mitigate the consequences of an untoward outcome.
